  4. 4:33 you also have bishop g4 check with no way to block -> king moves out of the way -> take the queen behind him with your queen and keep your bishop while invading the opponent's back rank

  5. Yes these are the traps that actually work.

  6. In Lasker's trap, you could put the king in check with the move bishop g4. The king has two options: take the pawn on f2 or move to e3. Either way black can win white's queen.

  19. IMPORTANT: Good video. The point of this video is NOT to play dubious or losing opening traps. The point of this video is that for these traps in particular, even if the trap does not work, you have a decent playable position. In fact, many of these traps are NOT ACTUALLY cheapo/cheap trick traps that give you a losing position if the opponent does not cooperate. To the contrary, many of the traps in this video simply capitalize on an opponent's opening blunder. In other words, simply playing a particular decent opening with the incidental benefit that the opponent may blunder the opening. That's different than a cheapo/cheap trick trap.

  20. Question: can someone tell me the name of this presenter? He did a good job in this video. Crisp, articulate, to the point.

  21. Great video, Iโ€˜m going to try out the Budapest gambit.

  22. Here is a message to everyone I played today : Why would you go to the level under beginner and start showing off all the tricks in the book?? You canยดt see that is really pathetic. ?

  23. And thatโ€™s why half of us play the London as white and 1โ€ฆ e6 against everything as Black
