  1. instead of white knight taking the d pawn I like the aggressive Bc4 move, temporarily going down a pawn, but putting pressure on the black king bishop pawn….thoughts ayone?

  2. Dereque Kelly isn't playing d5 later in the game or right after 6) Bd3 a good chance for damaging white's center for black? Also black has the half open b file which will probably be
way more useful than white's half open d file. (I really liked your video you won a new subscriber!)

  3. engines prefer other moves (e.g. Stockfish 8: ..d6 instead of ..Ne5)… I kept learning this computer moves until I recognized the engines lack theory.. is there an opening book? an official one? I really like to learn openings the right way… I have to learn again now =(

  4. I have learn all opening for you along and thanks

  5. Guys what other openings like the scotch for white do you recommend for tactical battle but also sound? Thanks in advance

  7. One of the most professinal and informative chesschannels on Youtube👍

  8. first great Vid. but in the last position isn't there a clear advantage for black since white cannot protect both pawns?

  9. Leela Zero played the Scotch against GM Andrew Tang and Andrew got crushed.
Nobody likes facing this discombobulating openning against a strong opponent…

  10. Another great video Dereque, I've been learning a lot with you in the past 6 months. I'm so glad I found your channel. Thank you very much.

  11. i didnt know this opening at the time but i manage to defeat my dad in it, where before he always won

  12. This video is very good. Please make videos on all possible variations in most important 10 to 15 openings. This will help a lot of chess lovers. Keep up the good work. I love this channel and your style of explanation.

  13. Dereque your videos are great. I really like them very much. I suggest you put a video on nimzowitsch defense. Actually, I wanted to tell you a line I wanted to learn. That is e4 nc6 d4 and e4 Nc6 Nf3. Again thank you for your awesome videos.

  14. Whats the best way to defend e4 and g2 after Black played Queen g6?

  15. I almost never see the Scotch opening, then I saw this video and someone tried it in my next game. It was glorious.

  16. Well done! Coherent and concise. Not one of my favorite openings as white, but the variations are a "must know" in general. Cheers!

  17. Wow this video is 7 years old but looks like it it was shot recently… Well done

  18. Good explanation. I play online and when my rating goes up i find very often opponents using Scotch opening and i find it difficult to adjust. This video is very usefull.

  19. Dereque, your videos are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of openings!

  20. If there are coordinates on the chessboard, it will be better for me – a beginner.

  21. After facing this a few times in my games I decided I needed to do better than what I came up with OTB. King out! Mind blowing! I can't believe how obvious and direct it is once shown, but hard to find yourself.

  22. Honorable sir can you put the video of how to beat ruy lopez

  23. Clear introduction and explanations to the Scotch.

  24. great video! very comfortable for studying and very aesthetic as well.

  25. Just started learning chess and I know this vid is 3 years old but I loved loved loved how simple and easy you make this opening sound! You got a new sub!

  26. You missed one crucial move for white at 9:13: K:B5 (!) than K:C7 setting black king matte to take tower afterwards…

  27. Do you know you any trap to respond 3…f6? I heard that there's a trap against f6 but I can't find it.

  28. This went too deep to quickly for me. In 95% of my 1000 games black will play 3. knight takes night. Would have loved to know what happens after 4. white takes back the Knight back with the queen.

Nevertheless I like the explaining style and the mood of your explanation Videos.

  29. 8 years on, this is still the best intro to this opening that I can find. Bravo.

  30. i ve never had any of those variations played against me! is it for super advanced player?

  31. Why does this video look like a stock image

  32. It would be awesome if the instruction was focused on white and all the potential moves and responses and then a second video from blacks perspective
