â™› Find the opening variations of the Colle–Zukertort System shown in the video in this blog-post –
In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov shares with you one of the most underrated chess openings for White: the Colle–Zukertort System. It is a universal chess opening system that can be played against any move by Black.
Similar to the London System, but more aggressive and less well-known, this opening system typically follows this move order: 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 e6 3.e3 Nf6 4.Bd3 c5 5.b3 Nc6 6.0-0 Bd6 7.Bb2 0-0 8.Nbd2.
It’s important to note that you develop your queenside knight to d2 instead of the usual square c3, as you want to keep the diagonal open for your dark-squared bishop on b2, which will be a key piece for your future kingside attack.
Watch the full video lesson to learn the common opening setup, key ideas, and middlegame attacking plans for White.
