๐น TOP 5 Fastest Checkmates in the King’s Gambit –
In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov shares with you one of the trickiest and funniest chess openings for Black to win fast. This happens in the aggressive Falkbeer Countergambit against the King’s Gambit which happens after 1.e4 e5 2.f4 d5.
Most chess players play 3.fxe5 and fall for the rook trap when you (as Black) play Qh4+ exploiting the dark square weakness and winning the White’s rook after Qe4+ and Qxh1. Some of the advanced players may play 3.exd5 and there are some nasty traps in that variation as well!

Just want to say that I've really enjoyed the regular content since starting to follow the channel – I have bought a course, which I haven't really dug into yet, but thanks and hope your Christmas break is good.
I love this!!
Make one on Owens Defence โ๐ฑ
I can't find any more in-depth info on this variation.
Nice video ๐
Wow! Soo nice traps! Thanks a lot Igor! ๐๐โ
Would I beat odd GMs too?
ridiculous. Kings gambit, white knight comes out asap.
I love your videos. But some of them, like this one, lack proper tags/keywords, so they become hard to find again.
Some keywords here like "king's gambit", "falkbeer", playing "black" would be very interesting. Some sort of keyword system would help us a lot :))
Where's your cat
channel is better than GothamChess
Love the Videos! I recently started playing chess and thanks to your videos I got to 800 in week two!
I've literally never had this opening for white played against me before and as soon as I was done watching this, I hopped on and BAM someone plays e4, f4. I did in fact beat them using the trap! Thank you!
Nice

Time to find someone playing with the kings gambit
This gambit is really super tricky! But sadly people don't play king's gambit a lot in my level.
Don't tell this to bobby bojanglles
We should challenge who play kings Gambit in challenge. Now a days no one play ki ng Gambit
You should share some more advanced type or tips and tricks for like 1600+ rated players because a lot of these gambit don't really work past a certain intermediate level
Gosh, thank you. My favorite opening is the King's Gambit. But it's such a bitch for me to counter it.
I'll definitely be using this counter gambit in the future.
you have audio issues ๐
Thanks, Igor. Love your sense of humor and great simple walk-throughs for openers like this. I'm a experienced player who still has a low ranking. I'm learning a lot by seeing the variations that can occur in just the first few moves of common openings.
What if the opponent moves the king instead of the pawn
Haha you choose the lines that suits your narrative. Very very bad. Used to love your videos but rather than showing the best lines you chose the lines that suits your narrative. This is absolutely ridiculous and not beneficial at all. Doesn't teach anything as the strong players would never play these silly lines. Rather than showing silly billy lines(โ *โ _โ *โ ) show the best lines in each opening and how it should be played. That would be much more helpful
In 5 min video, you told pawn takes e5 is bad move like 5 times duh.
Glad to learn this
