  1. There is just two kinda chess players I want to destroy. Shit players who playes the Englund and shit players playes the london… have some respect for yourself and play the danish gambit. At least that is somewhat based on real chess principles. Englund is just pure garbage!!

  2. As a 1000 rated d4 player, I can't tell you how many times I see this gambit.

  3. AKA – How to beat London players in Bullet games

  4. What if after queen to e2 my friend plays h4 or a4 ??????

  5. ah yes, i remember beating a 20000 rated player with this gambit

  6. Meanwhile my 200+ rated elo brain trying to remember all of these moves

  7. I played this gambit against my grandpa, but the weirdest thing is he took the bishop his rook is gone

  8. to be fair, you don't have to to play chess if they don't take. there are some moves you can play just leaving that pawn there. i managed to get a delayed gambit just now. after the initial pawn moves they didn't take immediately, instead they played c4 second, so i just played f5 (i don't know that that is a good move generally, i just know that it doesn't interfere with the gambit.

they then brought out their knight to attack my e5 pawn, which i defended with my own knight. thats when they took it!.

from there the way it played out i ended up winning their queen side knight rook and bishop in exchange for my black bishop, and then i traded queens. it was awesome.

(to be clear, im only like 800 rating. im just saying that it doesn't have to end immediately

  9. I love when players play this. More often than not at the 900-1000 level, when I don't immediately fall for the gambit they're not prepared well enough for the alternative play, and they're forced to play down a piece with their queen over extended and it often results in me just wiping them out.

  10. I try to learn the Vienna gambit but i usually end up as black, so the Englund gambit would be a backup for me if i played as black.

  11. I would probably fall for the Englund Gambit when GothamChess explained it meticulously

  12. This is my absloute favorite way to play as black when white plays d4

  13. Here is the thing, if you lower than some rating it's fine to play this, if you higher you still need to know this, when you will play for white.

  14. YouTube recommendations have tapped into my chess losses today… 😔

  15. LOL! I just won my opponent's Queen on move 7 and Rook on move 8 using the ENGLUNDDD!!!🤣🤣🤣

  16. After endless attemps, 1st time I won today with the happy flow 🙂

  17. Question.. what if black played nc6 then white defends the pawn with pawn f4?

  18. straight up stunted my brother's chess development by a year with this filth

  19. “I don’t think I’m scared of C4…”

Not generally a wise thing to say 😆

  20. Started trying this gambit out and keep forgetting the main lines and been absolutely getting my wheels smoked off

  21. i lost a game today to somebody playing this gambit

  22. Me who checkmated my sis in 4 : pathetic

  23. Rook b1 rook b1 make a move that makes no sense that move literally is crazy why on earth would you play that? At least castle ur king what the heck is this move what are u trying to accomplish I have no idea

  24. I've got to say @Gotham, you opened my eyes to the Englund opening and it's helped me up my game soooooo much against higher ranked players.

  25. As a quick question on the third game against angelic could you have potentially won a rook when he played f3 and you take knight on c3? It was maybe 3 or 4 moves in

  26. am i the only dumbass that notices in the thumbnail it sais 20000 instead of 2000

  27. 3:18 just take the center and do what ? is there a vid that shows how at this point that gambit is not lost ?

  28. Is that a Where's Waldo shirt???!!!

  29. i wish the video covered what black should do if white does queen d5 instead of bishop f4, because ive faced this alot in my games and i feel like there should be a way to counter it but i dont know what to play. if anyone knows a good line after queen d5 please let me know

  30. What app is this? I usually play on chesstime and sparkchess

  31. why is levy’s lamp rated higher then me in chess

  32. I am a london player and i searched for because i fell for it😢

  33. Edit: Oh hey I think I actually did do the right thing lol. I remembered that taking was bad so I just kind of ignored it

  34. Just played this by accident, the reverse alekhine variation, and took my opponents queen on move 14.
    Also way to go! 3.5M!
